•We offer Varsity level teams in Field Hockey, Golf and Tennis.
Notre Dame High School is a member of the Tri-County Athletic League (TCAL). Teams in the league include: Alisal High School, Everett Alvarez High School, Gilroy High School, North Salinas High School, Palma High School, Salinas High School, and San Benito High School.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FALL SPORTS – 2010
Cross-Country, Field Hockey, Golf, Tennis, Volleyball & Water Polo
In order to try-out or practice a Fall Sport you must have turned in a completed Sports Eligibility packet to Ms. Sonniksen prior to the FIRST scheduled practice and/or try-out. The packet can be picked up at Notre Dame during summer business hours 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m Fridays. The Sports Eligibility packets will not be mailed home. They will be in the front office and also in Billiart Hall next to the Athletic Director’s office door. You will need a current physical exam. Physical exams are good for one calendar year only. We will be conducting physical exams this year. You will not be allowed to try-out or practice until you have taken your physical exam.
FALL SPORT PRACTICE & TRY-OUT DATES & TIMES
Cross Country – Cross Country practice will begin on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Toro Park from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information and for summer conditioning information please contact Mandy Lebow at 831-210-9947 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Field Hockey – Field Hockey practice will begin on Friday, August 13, 2010 on the Notre Dame athletic field from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, August 14 practice will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and on Monday, August 16, 2010 practice will be from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Golf – On Monday, August 9, 2010 a golf meeting will be held at Notre Dame High School at 12:15 p.m. in the Student Commons. Anyone interested in playing golf can contact Head Coach John Oliverio at (831)455-0707 or his cell at (831)320-7710. At the meeting John will discuss practice and league schedules and the practice facilities we will use this season. He will be assisted by Mr. Clem Richardson. All eligibility paperwork must be completed and turned in to the Athletic Director before you can begin practicing. This includes a current physical exam.
Tennis – A tennis meeting will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 in the Student Commons at 3:00 p.m. We will discuss practice times and location and collect the Eligibility paperwork. Try-outs/practice will begin in Tuesday, August 24th at Hartnell College. All eligibility paperwork must be completed and turned in to the Athletic Director before you can begin practicing. This includes a current physical exam.
Volleyball – Volleyball tryouts for Freshman, JV and Varsity teams will begin on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame gym. A schedule of try-out dates and times will be handed out at that first meeting. For more information or questions please contact Varsity Coach, Katie Harreld, at 831-970-1321.

Water Polo – There will be a meeting with the coaching staff on Friday, August 13, 2010 4:00 p.m. at Notre Dame in the Student Commons. Practice dates, times and locations will be discussed. All eligibility paperwork must be completed and turned in to the Athletic Director before you can begin practicing. This includes a current physical exam.
Any student unable to make a try-out listed above may be given a one day try-out in the sport of interest at the discretion of the coach and Athletic Director.
