The Academic/Personal Counselors are available:
•To assist students in attaining maximum personal and intellectual growth
•To assist students in effectively handling personal and academic problems
•To help students make realistic evaluations of their interests and goals
Strategies employed:
•Individual or group counseling upon request to discuss problems of a personal nature
•Parent conferences and referrals to community services
•Specialized support groups, such as grief/loss groups, as the need arises
•Crisis intervention counseling
•Conflict resolution counseling
•Home study arrangements for students with prolonged absence/illness
•Tutor resource list and referral
•Resources for parents with questions about adolescent development issues
•Parent/Teacher/Student intervention counseling
•Scheduling appropriate classes for high school graduation and college preparation
•Academic progress reports
•Summer school needs and tutorial services
•Career information program
•Academic Probation follow through
