For more than six decades, the young women of Notre Dame High School have excelled in a faith–based environment that empowers them to demonstrate competence in academic subjects while collaborating with others and working cooperatively to achieve their goals.
In response to the Gospel, the teachings of the Catholic Church, and the vision of St. Julie Billiart, foundress of the Notre Dame de Namur Congregation, Notre Dame High School provides its students with a challenging, innovative, and college-preparatory curriculum designed to help young women reach their highest potential and prepare them for success in college and beyond.
At the foundational level, coursework and classroom experiences focus on building strong academic skills and confidence as students transition into the rigor of high school. Students strengthen critical thinking, reading, writing, and problem-solving skills while developing effective study habits and learning how to express their ideas clearly through discussion, collaboration, and written work. In mathematics and science, instruction builds upon prior knowledge while reinforcing essential concepts to ensure students are well prepared for advanced coursework.
The upper-level curriculum further develops advanced writing, analytical thinking, and creative reasoning across all disciplines. As students progress through their course of study, they gain a deeper understanding of core academic subjects while discovering their individual strengths, interests, and goals, skills that are essential for college readiness and lifelong success. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves academically and take ownership of their learning as they plan their course selections. Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Enrollment courses are available to qualified students seeking greater academic challenge. In addition, a wide range of electives, visual and performing arts opportunities, athletics, and experiential learning experiences allow students to explore interests, develop leadership skills, and grow as well-rounded individuals within a faith-centered community.
